About Me

Photography.  I received my first 35mm SLR in 1978.  I was fortunate enough  to purchase my own color and b&w developing equipment in 1979.  Yes, that's right -- I had the equipment to develop color prints and film.  A lot of people developed their own B&W prints, but developing color was a much more intricate process.  

My first real photography assignment started with the yearbook staff in high school.  After high school, I didn't do much with photography until 1989 when I was fortunate enough to take a trip to Hong Kong and China where I ended up living for the next year and a half.  Having pictures developed was cheap and I took a bunch.

After that, marriage.  It's hard to not take alot of pictures when you marry a gorgeous woman.  And I did.

Then children.  Beautiful children.  More pictures.  But I also made the decision early in my first daughter's life that I would rather have, and I think she would rather have videos in addition to tons of pictures of her childhood when she got older.  So I bought my first video camera and started recording.  Now, after 21 years of photographing and recording my two daughters in all their special events, dance recitals, dance performances, and plays, I'm offering my services to you.

Videography.  I started recording Dance performances in 2008.  Ever since then, I have worked to continually improve my equipment and my workflow.  I’ve been on the parent side of having to purchase other professional videos that I considered to be a little expensive.  I’m continually shopping around for the best prices on parts and services so I can keep my prices as low as possible.

And something I'm picky about is the sound.  I try to record the best sound I can to mix along with the video.  And when possible, I record the audio from multiple positions around the room so I can provide a 5.1 audio mix along with my videos.

Media Services.  Besides pictures and videos, I can also produce slideshows and audio recordings of concerts and special events.
